Completed Projects

Fabrication of Magnetic Nanophotocatalyst for the Degradation of Cyanide - Funded by DOST-PCCIERD

Fe3O4@TiO2 showed higher cyanide degradation efficiency (94%) under sunlight irradiation, Fe3O4@TiO2 showed higher cyanide degradation efficiency (94%) under sunlight irradiation. The nanophotocatalyst can be re-used for up to 5 cycles without significant changes in the cyanide removal efficiency.

Recyclable Magnetic Nanoprobe for the Enrichment and Remediation of Metal Ions - Funded by San Roque Metals Inc. (SRMI)

Remediation of Ni2+ in a nickel-contaminated water sample using magnetic nanoprobes prepared via a green process by Psidium guajava leaves extract. Higher adsorption of Ni2+ (98.5%) was observed when 10 mg of magnetic nanoprobes were used.
