Nanotech and Material Science Research Group (NMSRG) is devoted to examine and discover the diverse applications of nanotechnology to the different sectors: Agriculture, Environment, Health and Medicine, and Mining. The group develops innovative nanotech-driven technologies to support the regional development goals of the Caraga Region.

The group's research interests include (but not limited to the following):

  1. Synthesis and characterization of various nanomaterials (Au, Ag, CuO, MgO, BiOCl, ZnO, TiO2, core-shell structures, nanocomposites, polymer-metal nanostructures, zeolite nanocomposites, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs)

  2. Applications of the different nanomaterials and nanocomposites (photocatalysis, remediation, green metallurgy, synthesis, catalyst)

  3. Sensor Fabrications (chemical and biosensors)

  4. Electrochemical Methods

  5. Electrospun Nanofibers

  6. Green Mining (extraction, recovery, and purification of metals)

  7. Nanotech-driven High Precision Agriculture (nano-based sensors for agricultural applications)
